Over the past 40 years, I’ve helped hundreds of high-tech and biotech startup companies get funded. Based on that experience, I’ve developed an eleven-class video course on writing the best pitch deck to help startups secure funding. The course is called “Everything You Need to Know to Write the Best Pitch Deck for Your Startup Company.”

Writing the Best Pitch Deck Puts You Ahead of the Competition

Most of the pitch decks I see are unlikely to get funded. Why? Well, partly because the competition is so stiff. If the competition has a better pitch deck, your startup could be dead in the water.

When a startup seeks capital, its pitch deck has to be better than the competition. In my experience, many investors will have 25 or more pitch decks on their desks at any one time. So, how does a startup company convince these investors that it should be at the top of the stack?

Even if a startup has the smartest idea for a startup company and the strongest and most experienced management team—to get funded, they still have to prove it. That’s where the pitch deck comes in—it has to present a company clearly and compellingly. This course on writing the best pitch deck is designed to help startups do just that.

Some Common Flaws Investors See in Pitch Decks

Pitch decks are often one-dimensional. They don’t answer the right questions. The purpose or goals of the company is not clear. Or they are aimed at the wrong audience. Often, they don’t communicate clearly. They say things in the wrong sequence or say things the audience can’t understand because they lack proper context. Many are not designed appropriately for their intended purpose. The truth is, many use the creation tools improperly as well.

I Created this Course on Writing the Best Pitch Deck to Change That

Many business plans and pitch-deck outlines do not ask questions in the same way an investor would. For example, the question is not, “Who are your team members and what companies have they worked for?” The question is, “Who are your team members and what have they accomplished that would lead me, the investor, to believe that they can build this company successfully?”

In this eleven-class course on writing the best pitch deck, startups will learn how to avoid these problems, but more importantly, how to do it right.

Startups will learn:

1.  That a pitch deck is more than just a vehicle for raising funds.

2.  When should a startup start creating its pitch deck (which might surprise you)?

3. The best way to create a pitch deck

4.  How to balance the use of text and graphics in a pitch deck

5.  And finally, a startup might need more than one pitch deck (and how to easily manage multiple decks).

Startups will also learn—and this is extremely important—how to answer the right questions. Again, it’s not who your team members have worked for—it’s what they have accomplished. There is an essential difference—in fact, it’s a game-changer. Every slide in a pitch deck needs this kind of interpretation to get to the heart of what investors are really looking for.

This Course is Easy to Follow and Thorough

The course walks you through the pitch-deck creation process, slide-by-slide. I use a 26-slide template that I have used to raise capital for many companies. The template takes entrepreneurs “behind the curtain” for each question and helps them understand what investors are really asking and how best to respond.

So, I hope you’ll join me for this content-packed course on writing the best pitch deck and/or refer it to startup companies that you think might benefit from it.
